Ni hao! My name is Ellen Rodgers and I am very happy to be associated with Barnard Chinese Mandarin Language Elementary. We will study many interesting things in the upcoming school year. My primary goals are to ensure that your child develops essential skills in reading, writing, math, science, and social skills. I strongly believe that a firm foundation in reading is critical to their future academic success. The students and I will attend Mandarin Chinese Language classes for 40 minutes per day, four days every week. Students are expected to learn to speak and write in Mandarin Chinese. This program is an amazing and enriching educational opportunity for students. I am looking forward to meeting my new students and their parents this fall.
