Nicole Levinson
My name is Mrs. Nicole Levinson and this is my eleventh year with San Diego Unified. This is my third year with Barnard Elementary and my second year as the Project Resource Teacher.

I live in the Pt. Loma community and am eager to serve the community I live in. I strongly believe a child is brought up and molded by his/her parent, teacher/school, and community leaders. I encourage lots of parent communication and volunteerism within the classroom and within the school setting.

Okay, a little bit about me. I have a degree in Spanish and Liberal Arts from SDSU. My second to last year in college I lived in Spain and attended La Universidad de Granada for one year. I attended USD for my teaching credential and a few years later I returned to SDSU and obtained a Masters degree in Curriculum Instruction with an emphasis in reading.

My entire family comes from Germany and as a child my parents would ship me off to Germany by myself to live with relatives every summer for 6 years. I became extremely close with my relatives and became quite fluent in German.

My husband and I live with 2 cats named Luna and Mitzi, 4 chickens, 1 Box Turtle, and 3 California Desert Tortoises. All live in harmony.

I enjoy gardening, cooking, paddle boarding, stand up surfing, yoga, going to the gym, ocean swimming, beach running, sailing, rock climbing, and hiking. I was a competitive triathlete and attended Age-Group Nationals 2 times within the past few years. At this time I am no longer racing but am an avid ocean swimmer and runner.

This year I had the wonderful opportunity to visit China and all that it has to offer. What an experience! The trip was amazing, wonderful people, excellent sites to see, smell, and taste. It was truly an unforgettable trip.

I look forward to a wonderful and productive year here at Barnard! Your children will soar!
