Welcome to room 3!. My name is Carmencita Ancora. I'm very excited to be a 2nd grade teacher. I'm from Brazil, my first language is Portuguese, and I'm the fourth generation of teachers in my family. I became an American Citizen 7 years ago and I'm very proud to be a part of this country. I'm a proud mother of a wonderful twenty year old daughter. I'm honored to be teaching at Barnard Elementary and to be a part of the Chinese Mandarin Program. I have been working for SDUSD since 1996. I was an Instructional Aide at Silver Gate Elementary School and a teacher at Dana Middle School. My goal is to help my students improve their skills in Math, Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, and Health. My students and I are learning how to read and write in Chinese Mandarin with our great teacher Ms.Zhang I'm looking foward to a very interesting school year! Some of our focus for the next month are: Language Arts: Non fiction. We are exploring our Social Studies book Math: Addition and Subtraction. Science: We are going to learn about pebbles sand and silt. Social Studies: We are learning about people who make a difference. Health: We will learn how to make good choices and stay healthy.
